Rin Clarita I discovered SDS through Spotify and this so far is my favorite album from them. It's excellent for just unwinding during the daytime, whether in the morning with a mug of fresh coffee in hand or in the afternoon as I admire the clouds from my car.

Dr. Beaf It's easy to be submersed in the notes and sounds pulsing, swirling and swaying. This album blocks out the noise and makes everything but itself silent. With the chop rhythms of the synths I feel like I'm lying in a bed of overgrown green grass as a helicopter flies over above ever so delicately cutting the sky in synchronicity with each pulse. Favorite track: Come The Morning Light.

Pete Srdic Strange as it sounds SDS's music always makes me feel like I'm the shadow looking back at my flesh body. Beautifully transporting, and I come back feeling like I've been breathing clean mountain air and refreshed. This gorgeous new album is no exception to his amazing catalogue. Stunning. Favorite track: Coming Back.

Slow Dancing Society’s sixth album The Cogent Sea is another absorbing progression in Drew Sullivan’s mesmerising discography. The album continues the submersed exploration of Sullivan’s ’80s influences while also drawing upon an incredibly focused and cinematic ambient minimalism. There are trademark elements from across Slow Dancing Society’s stunning, critically acclaimed back catalogue, but rather than being throwbacks they present a continuity of narrative that is rarely found over such a large body of work.

On single ‘A Clearing’, gently overlapping waves of synthesizer are suspended amid sustained tones, holding the listener transfixed before Sullivan’s trademark guitar sound gently brings the listener back down to earth, transformed. Second single ‘Pull’ is aptly titled, its droning radiance, warm piano chords and magnetic guitar figures pulling the listener irresistibly into its enveloping glow. This is Slow Dancing Society at his masterful, immersive best.

Never have I heard a more intricate yet simplistic ensemble of perfection in sound. It's hard to pick a favorite track on this album, as every single one is it's own masterpiece. I have a huge library of ambient soundscapes and drones, and this is without a doubt the king of them all. This album will provide you a genuine experience of drifting through the vast universe in a hyper sleep pod. 10/10 Jonas
